Teacher Professional development scholarship

The MAEA Teacher PD Scholarship of $250 is intended to support active teaching members in their pursuit of professional learning opportunities that will enhance their teaching or artistic practice. Applicants for the scholarship must be active MAEA members for at least 3 consecutive years immediately prior to applying.

The scholarship can be applied to formal art- or art-education-related professional development experiences such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Haystack two-week summer session

  • Attendance at MAEA Fall or Spring Conference

  • Attendance at NAEA Convention or Leadership Conferences

  • Formal classes (college course, continuing studies, workshops, etc.)

This scholarship comes with the expectation that, within a year of your experience, you will write an article and provide photos summarizing your experience for publication in Mixed Media and/or create a short presentation to be given virtually or in person at the MAEA Fall or Spring Conference.

Applications are due Jan. 1st and will be scored on a four-point rubric based on the categories listed in the application.
